AFTER THE STORM

Today started with a gorgeous dawn .. Red sky in the morning sailors warning .. A Drive ..firstly to the watering station.. loo emptied and shopping done ..we then got 280 klm under our belt ..tried for a place on the cliff above Nerja but no spots free

A lay-by was found just out side Nerja to the south near Torrox coordinates are 36.735619 -3.1932474

Still a nice day .. until The thunder storm ..Thunder and lighting are not my favourites .. in fact it’s scares the living doodahs out of me ..Father Christmas is shaking his sack of toys ..That’s what I told Daniel when we had one when he was tiny .. But here we are at the center of the storm

During the storm one of the thunder claps actually shook the van .. A decent red was consumed with lot of hilarity..The Driver has come down with a cold which may develop into man flu .. messages of encouragement will be welcomed !
Christmas morning with fisherman . Joggers cyclists even the Gaurda Sevilla lurking and pull mortorists .. perhaps breathalyzing after CEve festivities
No travelling today .. Just a nice day by the sea in the sun .. Paella for Christmas dinner 🥘 👋 Game or two of Rumikub .. You may not know but we have a Winter championship playing nightly.. The Cook is one game up .. Sniggers

We will stay free for a couple of days at a Marina complex parking .. A lone German told us how to park and no camping behaviour .. Give me strength😱 we’ve been at this free camping lark for more years than him .. What an arse 💩🤦‍♀️ .. The roads were chocker.. A nervous Driver’s little helper survived🧑‍🎄

Haven’t paid for one sleepy spot in 8 day travel as yet Hip-hip hooray

Went to view the “OTHERS”

Rained all night .. but we’re tucked up in Harry Hymer all cosy and warm .. An early bed as we can sleep the sleep of the dead on a beach with the sound of the waves but awoke to THE SUN 🌞

“A walk” said the Driver Up and over the headland .. Round to the OTHER camping spot known to us but never stayed nor wanted to .. Our little beach park up has about 20 places The OTHER 100 or more .. back over the top just 2km there and back The Cook was one sweater over dressed and had to divest the outer one 🤦‍♀️

Today 23/12/25 .. well this morning was a beach day … Hot 🥵 sadly now clouded over and it’s indoors again. More later 👋

A CHANGE OF DIRECTION

Barcelona kicked into touch.. Firstly check the price of the tickets to Gaudi’s Sagrada Família only to find hiked Christmas prices and by the time we’d complained to each other .. logged back in the ticket were sold out ..

Headed south at quite a pace toward the Med .. finding Aires for Camping in Huesca A quiet night was had and a fill with water

Another 340 klm under our belt and another Aire de Campingcar was found ..Lovely village called GELDO..well worth a look if in the area.. Cat Hotel in a wine cask .. lots of murals including one of Trump and Putin with fish heads ..

Set off early morning south again 400 more klm ..Part of the journey at 6000 feet and arrived at our destination at sunset

This is what we call OUR BEACH .. found a few years ago and arrived to find we had a space .. normally rammed full with Multi nationals .. No Brits atm 🇬🇧

WEATHER UPDATE!

We are trying with luck to get some decent weather as we travel south to Morocco .. Leaving Lancashire we had this ..

The rain was torrential all the way down to Portsmouth .. A decent nights sleep in the carpark at Port Solent shopping precinct.. Spitting ( Not the Driver ) intermittently … Don’t you love a good nights sleep when you’re an insomniac (Again not the Driver ) The Cook got 9 hours last night. With time to spare the weather app Ventusky came into play again .. Holy Moly and buckets of blood .. Spain is getting hammered ..

Now we’re getting info from Motorhomes who are in Morocco in the snow .. but that’s not all .. FLASH floods because of the extreme weather have hit Safi which is on our road south killing 27 people

What shall we do ? Hang fire in Spain or whizz down through Morocco too find dry weather ?

IT RAINED AND RAIN

Stayed over night at our son’s house ..plugged in to his electrics after an outing to the local Bistro for Sunday late lunch .. The off was planned for Monday morning after seeing My Ruby off to school .. She has given me one of her Labubu for company.. I gave her a hug ring as she always says I abandon her going off on adventures

The journey to Portsmouth was so so wet .. Miserable drive but it is what it is .. arrived Port Solent around 5-30pm after a 6 hour drive which included a lunch break with pork pie and coleslaw .. Knackered now ..

Parked up and supper consisted of chicken and teriyaki sauce wraps A glass of Pino Grigio and some good layed back tunes
